Day 82 - Wednesday

U.S. History I - Periods 2, 5, and 6: 
Essential Question:
-Does our state government or federal government have a greater impact in our lives?
-Was George Washington a good president?
-Why was John Adam's so strongly disliked?
-What conditions provided for the encouragement of the Alien and Sedition Acts? 
-What potential for abuse was their with the Alien and Sedition Acts?
-To what extend did Thomas Jefferson live up to his ideals and beliefs?

1. A very quick wrap-up of the George Washington Presidency.
-The Foundation of Washington D.C. being built
-The First Political Parties
-The Whiskey Rebellion
-We will watch the History Channel's The Presidents

2. We will very quickly explore and learn about the warnings George Washington had for future presidents and leader of our nation by analyzing a shortcut from The Heritage Foundation on George Washington's Farewell Address.

3. We will introduce our second President of the United States with some excerpts from "Life in Brief: John Adams", and then students will turn and talk with a partner based of the 2-COLUMN NOTES based off guided topics BELOW:

A. Summarize the International situation during John Adam's presidency.
B. Summarize the domestic political situation
C. List the concerns that lead to the Sedition Act
D. Describe the Alien and Sedition Acts - What is classified as a crime?

7. Did anybody have any concerns reviewing the John Adams Packet and The Sedition Act Excerpt (Just read pages 5 & 6). Today we will begin the John Adams Presidency video questions.

8. We will investigate the controversial decisions that Thomas Jefferson made as the third President of the United States of America using the Thomas Jefferson Packet and Chapter 6 - Section 3 Jefferson Alters the Nation's Course pages 197-201 in your textbook.

Homework:
1. You will be assigned groups based of the Study Guide. Overall your class has been divided into 5 groups and you will become experts on your assigned Chapter so that we can complete a jigsaw activity tomorrow in class. This is studying for the Mid-term Exam and will be one of the most helpful reviews we do before your exam.

2. US History I MID-TERM REVIEW GUIDE - Your mid-term exam is approximately 6 days away (period 2) and 8 days away for (Periods 5 & 6).  You should continue reviewing this study guide and decide what you know and what needs some serious review.

-How did the Great Depression affect the lives of millions of Americans?
-What affect did the Dust Bowl have on Americans during the Great Depression?
-What was the New Deal and how did it affect the American people during the Great Depression?
-What affect did the Stock Market Crash of 1929 have on the American people during the Great Depression?
-What were the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), The Works Progress Administration (WPA), and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and how did the affect the American people during the Great Depression?
-Who was Franklin Delano Roosevelt and how did his leadership affect the American people during the Great Depression?

1. The Great Depression and New Deal Packet - Please complete this packet by Wednesday, January 13th by 7:30 AM. That means ONLY 1 day away!!!

1. You will be assigned a group in class that will reflect your assigned Chapter on the review guide so that we can complete a jigsaw activity tomorrow in class. This is studying for the Mid-term Exam and will be one of the most helpful reviews we do before your exam.

2. US History II Midterm Exam REVIEW GUIDE - Your mid-term exam is approximately 6 days away! You should continue reviewing this study guide and decide what you know and what needs some serious review. Come to school tomorrow with ANY questions you have!

Please continue planning, researching, organizing in a working outline what you need to complete for this FINAL PROJECT.  Please ensure you have a VERY CLEAR understanding of the 4 files you need to complete on the TO-DO-LIST for your Digital Story Telling Final Exam Project on National Security.
