Day 3 - Thursday

U.S. History II  - Period 1:
Essential Questions:

-What is thinking?
-How will you succeed in my class?

Themes: Individualism, Diversity, PEGS (Political, Economic, Geographic, Social)

1. I need to collect the rest of the signatures from my U.S. History II - 1900 - 2014 -  Expectations and Syllabi.

2. Why are you here? Does education really matter? Increase your earning potential = Higher Education. We will discuss the value of education using the first three pages and the charts ONLY!  Our article analysis needs to be finished with visual representation (5 mins) and then everyone discusses their page assigned (10 mins), and finally answer the questions as an entire class (10 mins).

3. We need to finish the Quote Activity in groups of 5, everyone will discuss their quotes individually and their reasons for picking the quote, style, and theme behind it. Then the whole group will PICK ONE to represent the group. Why was it the best representation? What factors did you include for 'liking it'? Was the group unanimous or was there a close decision? 20 minutes. Please print up and complete the Quote Activity for tomorrow's class period.

Homework:
1. Make a name tag for the first few weeks of school so that I can make a habit of calling your name and it will help me learn your names a little bit faster.

2. Take home your textbooks and fill out the Textbook Sheet as a receipt for your textbook. Also, review pages

3. Please download "Snapshot Autobiography Project: Directions" and complete Part I: Snapshot Autobiography by following the directions notes #1-4 and completing the tasks that our asked in these directions. I need to learn more about you as a person and how well you write using an autobiography project. This will ultimately count as a Quiz Grade, so half of it will be tonight and Part II will be interviewing someone with a different perspective.

4. Monday after school in Mr. Parkin's Room 2:00-3:00PM- EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY!!!
