Day 4 - Thursday...And that's a wrap for the first week of school!

Historical Thinking and TELLING A STORY matters!  How we chose to listen is a whole different perspective.

U.S. History I - Periods 2, 5, and 6: 
Essential Questions:

-What is History?
-How will you succeed in my class?

Themes: Historical thinking methods, evaluating sources, Thinking like an historian, PEGS (Political, Economic, Geographic, Social)

1.  We will finish the Quote Activity from yesterday with the rest of the gang telling us 3 things about yourself that we will not know! OR Do you have 3 things from your culture/family life/your life that you brought from home that we did not get to yesterday.

2. What is History? What are documents?

3. Lunchroom Fight Activity I and LFA II Activity

International Studies - Period 7
Essential Questions:
1. What does international studies mean?

2. How will you succeed in my class?

Themes: PEGS (Political, Economic, Geographic, Social)

1. We will finish the Quote Activity from yesterday with the rest of the gang telling us 3 things about yourself that we will not know! OR Do you have 3 things from your culture/family life/your life that you brought from home that we did not get to yesterday.

2. Commonalities with your list of Current Topics you want to learn about!  Let's discuss and share.

3. Please complete some basic research on the United Nations and Peace Day:
A. What is the United Nations?
B. What is the mission of the United Nations?
C. What is Peace Day? When is Peace Day? What typically happens on Peace Day?
D. Is global peace, even for just one day, possible? Your opinion/argument is valid, but make sure you can justify it."Peace Day." What is it? What is happening in 2015 to support this global movement?  Due by TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th, 2015.

4. Most likely will start this tomorrow - What is Peace Day? We will begin watching Jeremy Gilley's journey, but please complete this Day After Peace Test while you watch the video.
