Day 60 - Monday - Welcome December and 15 more days until your Winter Break!

U.S. History II  - Period 1: 
Essential Questions:

-Has rapid industrial development been a blessing or a curse for Americans?
-Did America fulfill the dreams of immigrants?
-Can reform movements improve American society and politics?

1. A few of you still need to makeup your Test today on Chapter 17 - The Progressive Era (25 Multiple Choice and 1 essay)

2. I will take today to pass back a lot of previous tests and papers.  We will review and reflect upon test taking skills and how to prepare and execute a better essay.

3. We are going to continue with these 3 Progressive Presidents below, but more in-depth on their Foreign Policy Legacies.

1. Chapter 18 - Section 1 - Imperialism and America - Read pages 548 - 551 and create an outline that illustrates organization, cause and effect analysis, and major events or themes that are easily understandably. Your outline should be 2 pages in length - meaning front and back of a lined paper sheet or two full slides on electronic format.

2. Please watch this video on American Imperialism as it will help you understand the following concepts:
   A. What is Imperialism?
   B. Why American imperialism in the late 19th Century?
   C. Who was this Alfred Thayer Mahan and what is his significance in the rise of the American imperialism?
