U.S. History I - Periods 1, 2 & 7:

Essential Questions:
-Was American expansion overseas justified?
-Did the press cause the Spanish-American War?
-Was the acquisition of the Panama Canal Zone and act of justifiable imperialism?
-Does the need for self-defense give the US the right to interfere in the affairs of Latin America? (Think about the Roosevelt Corollary, "Dollar Diplomacy," and "Watchful Waiting")

2. What is Peace Day?
3. What are the most important things individuals can or should do on behalf of a peaceful world?

3. Peace One Day and Jeremy Gilley....You will begin brainstorming how to bring PEACE DAY to Burlington High School. What is Peace Day? We will begin watching Jeremy Gilley's journey, but please complete this Day After Peace Test while you watch the video.
