1. Student will read The American Yawp's "The European Theater" and compare it to "The United States and Japanese War" using partner reading (One person reads a paragraph, while the other partner listens and takes notes, and then they switch roles after every paragraph. The note-taker should be documenting the most important aspects of what they hear, any major impacts, and any questions that are raised about the war effort in Europe or the Pacific. The idea is that EVERYONE is thinking as they are listening to the reader AND THEN discussing the content and context of what they read after each paragraph.
